Guerlain
Les Légendaires

LIU

It was inevitable that Jacques Guerlain, a great opera-lover, would fall under the spell of Turandot by Puccini. How could he resist the charm of the beautiful, heroic Liu? For this woman, he composed this olfactory poem starring aldehydic notes in one of their truly great roles as dominant top notes. Like cymbals, they announce the arrival of the blithe, sensual melody of rose and jasmine. Like music resonating in silence, a fragrance needs to linger in a voluptuous, calm memory. That's just what happens here, with a blissful union of the carnal notes of vanilla with iris and wood.
