"One of Klimt's paintings has always fascinated me: Lady with Hat and Feather Boa. A mysterious gaze illuminated by a diaphanous head of hair… I see her as slender, proud but vulnerable, and I wonder: what is she doing? Where is she going, supremely elegant in her large hat, protected by and enveloped in an almost velvety blackness? Is there a man waiting for her? Or is she waiting for him hiding her emotion behind her boa? This enigma so captured my imagination that I was inspired to create a perfumer: Nuit d'amour." ~ Jean-Paul Guerlain
