CHERGUI

South Morocco. The hazy white sun infuses torpor on a still diffused land. Miniature tornadoes improvise a ballet, dancing across the sands, roll, turn and then vanish. They are the Djinn, the genies of Good and Evil. They usher in the Chergui, a dry wind from the East. Burning, roiling, mica-laden knots form a curtain of red sand. The Chergui withdraws, followed by the fiery sands.
