Nowadays, the different presentations of a perfume have managed to satisfy the varied desires of the consumer. Perfume lovers have found in its many versions unexpected ways to enjoy a fragrance. However, with such a wide offer, sometimes choosing the right perfume for everyone can be confusing. We tell you that, as a general rule, the power of a fragrance is given by the percentage of perfume concentrate it has. But, in the world of perfumery the rules are written to be broken.

Light, but with personality

In this category we find the varieties of Eau Fraîche, Splash and Eau de Cologne, fragrances that can be worn in large quantities as they have a low percentage of perfume concentrate ranging from 1 to 5%. Precisely because of these proportions, in many cases they are made without spray. They are light versions, but with enough intensity to last a few hours and leave a very subtle scent for the rest of the day.

Daily companion

The most common option among the public tends to be the Eau de Toilette, which has up to 12% concentration. This is the ideal perfume for people who want a scent to last long enough for a working day or to be able to go home and reapply it. It lasts between four to five hours, but its effect evolves, revealing its different ingredients throughout the day.

The intense

Eau de Parfum is a concentration that, in addition to its long duration, has a greater olfactory presence on the body and its evaporation is slower. It can have up to 20% perfume concentrate, which makes it perfect for more intense fragrances.

The hyper sensual

This is the most sensual and intense category. It is the Parfum or Extract and has a concentration of up to 40%. Its duration is prolonged, because they are really powerful perfumes, so they should be applied in small touches on the pulse areas of the body: wrists, neck, behind the ears and behind the knees. Coco Chanel used to say that you should put perfume "where you want to be kissed".

The novelties

In today's market there are countless new alternatives, from water-based mists (ideal for applying on the hair or pillow) to solid perfumes, pencil-scented perfume, to wear on a brooch or necklace. In many cases they have a base of wax and oils that are applied on the body at the pulse areas and with the contact of the skin they release their scent. They are perfect options to combine with other perfumes and achieve a unique fragrance.
