When the cold weather arrives, it's time for an olfactory wardrobe change. Just as we adapt our clothing to low temperatures, it's also wise to adapt our fragrance. While the heat makes fresh and citrus notes more appealing, in winter, we gravitate toward deeper and warmer scents.

We're here to help you choose the perfect winter perfume, highlighting the season's most characteristic ingredients and sharing tips to make your fragrance last longer during the chilly days ahead.

Cold vs. heat

Summer and winter perfumes belong to two different worlds. In summer, fresh, floral, and aquatic compositions dominate, offering lightness. However, the cold slows down the evaporation of olfactory notes, which can make certain perfumes less noticeable. For this reason, it's better to opt for intense, warm fragrances that leave a lasting, enveloping trail.

Tips to prolong your perfume's duration in winter

Cold weather can reduce a perfume's projection, even though it enhances its fixation and longevity on the skin. Here are some tips to make it last longer:
1.- Hydrate well: hydrated skin retains fragrance better. Apply a scent-free cream or one with similar notes before your perfume to intensify its effect.
2.- Combine lotion and perfume: better yet, if your fragrance includes a matching lotion or cream, use it as a base.
3.- Apply to key areas: in winter, apply perfume to warm areas of the body, such as behind the ears, on the neck, and on the wrists. You can also try behind the knees and on the elbows.
4. Lightly scent your clothes: natural fabrics like wool hold fragrances well. Spray a little perfume on scarves or jackets (preferably on linings or interiors to avoid stains).
5.- Spray on hair: many brands offer perfumes formulated not to damage the hair fibers; they are perfect for completing your fragrance ritual, enveloping your hair in a subtle aura that enhances your scent with every movement.
