Oriental Notes

Scents that remain the East (sandalwood, patchouli leaves, vetiver roots, spices resins and balms, vanilla, amber, etc).

Also known as Amber notes, this beloved olfactory family is popular for a reason. Characterized by deep, warm, woody and sweet scents, ambery fragrances have a smooth roundness that is simply unbeatable. Divine notes of sandalwood, patchouli and vetiver, as well as spices, resins and balms or divine notes of vanilla and amber envelop accords in a blanket of scented decadence.

History

Ambery, or “Oriental” notes are perhaps as old as perfumery itself. Evidence suggests that the use of aromatic gums, frankincense and myrrh were collected in ancient cultures purely for olfactive pleasure. Their romantic and seductive qualities have enticed and aroused for millennia, while their ethereal attributes have had us imagining links between gods and mortals—burning incense in houses of worship and embalming venerated bodies in sickly-scented pastes.
