Cashmeran (Woody musky)

Woody, warm, balsamic, sweet, musky and sensual.

A dynamic ingredient with facets ranging from musky and woody to sweet and warm, cashmeran is the Pandora’s Box of perfume ingredients. Best known for its ability to “expand” floral notes, cashmeran serves as a malleable product in the hands of perfumers—melting into floral notes with its warmth and sensuality to create vibrantly layered accords.

History

When compared with other perfume ingredients of considerable popularity, cashmeran is relatively new to the scene. First discovered by John Hall at International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF) in the 1970s, cashmeran has rocked the perfume world with its ability to melt into floral accords, adding a characteristically warm, smooth and cashmere-esque facet to complex fragrances. Cashmeran is loved by all—finding its way into scent compositions designed to delight both ladies and gents.
