The Barber Institute of Fine Arts at the University of Birmingham presents "Scent & the Art of the Pre-Raphaelites," an innovative exhibition exploring the connection between scent, memory, and art, using unique AirParfum technology to evoke specific smells tied to the paintings.
"Around a heart of fresh wet grass blended with damp earth, we built a soft accord of reeds, bulrushes, and drainage ditches. A watery note combined with a silty soil note increase the contrast between the freshness and earthy smell." explains Gregorio Sola, principal perfumer.
The exhibition runs until May 2025, inviting visitors to engage deeply with the emotional and sensory dimensions of Pre-Raphaelite art.
