New perfumes for 2023 to have a crush on before Christmas

Your curiosity for perfumes knows no bounds, but there are so many novelties that it's hard to decide on just one… or maybe two, three, four…? The important thing is not the number, but the quality of your choices. Because a fragrance is not just a combination of scent molecules, but an olfactory story that accompanies your mood, complements your style and reaffirms your personality. Today we dive into the magic of the new perfumes of 2023 that will win you over before the end of the year.

5 women's fragrances of 2023 that are a real crush

Declination of a new rose
All of Me, Narciso Rodriguez

Declination of a new rose
All of Me, Narciso Rodriguez

To speak of Narciso Rodriguez is to think of musk, his fetish ingredient for 20 years when he launched the perfume For Her. However, in 2023, the brand is taking a new direction with All of Me, which reinvents a floral score ** ** with rose as the protagonist.

Perfumers Dora Baghriche and Daphné Bugey have worked in collaboration with the designer to translate the designer's vision of an abstract rose into an olfactory expression. To achieve a new expression of the rose, they worked with a chord traditionally used in men's perfumery, geranium.

"Geranium is a multi-faceted note with certain natural olfactory links to rose. By fusing geranium with this emblematic flower, we have created a more assertive and complex rose, which becomes more intense and modern and acquires greater density and depth", explains Bugey.

But Narciso Rodriguez has not completely forgotten its hallmark, musk, which emerges in a second facet, creating a second-skin effect, enveloping, soft and luminous.

A fact to take into account is that, for the first time, the brand presents a refill perfume, making the gesture of perfuming yourself more sustainable.

A gourmand indulgence
Devotion, Dolce & Gabbana

Devotion, Dolce & Gabbana

Dolce & Gabbana's first gourmand fragrance powerfully synthesises the brand's DNA through both the olfactory score and the bottle, adorned with the brand's emblem, the Sacred Heart.

Olivier Cresp masterfully captures the Italian essence of the house, orchestrating a creation with exquisite contrasts, luminous in the top notes and sensual in the base notes, combining the freshness of orange blossom with the sweetness of Madagascar vanilla and candied citrus fruits that add a gourmand touch.

The bottle has been designed with refilling in mind.

Thirty years after the launch of Classique, Jean Paul Gaultier returns to his origins to draw inspiration for his new women's fragrance, Devotion.

Thirty years after the launch of Classique, Jean Paul Gaultier returns to his origins to draw inspiration for his new feminine fragrance, a solar composition that claims to be the first marine floral gourmand.

Perfumer Quentin Bisch has created a surprising and addictive fragrance in which iris, an irresistible airy meringue and a sea breeze accord with a salty vibe pulsate.

A collector's item, the corset, a symbol of feminine power, fits into a refillable bottle.

With a name as noble as Magnolia Alba, this white-flowered plant, which requires a careful distillation process, is the new addition to Gucci's #FloraFantasy universe, inaugurated in 2021.

Joyful and luminous, the magnolia scent is sweetened with a juicy blackberry accord. Patchouli adds a sensual facet and creates an earthy, corky trail. Multiple nuances emerge as blond woods, coconut, vanilla and jasmine sambac combine to create a delicious and addictive scent. The fragrance bears the signature of Daphné Bugey and Marie Salamagne.

How to distinguish the new Flora Gorgeous? The house's iconic Flora print adorns the bottle and box, which are tinged with a purple hue.

Christine Nagel, nose of the house of Hermès, creates a bold, light fragrance that combines flowers and fruits with an exotic touch: sweet ginger flower, tender lychee and enveloping musk. The result is a composition that feels warm and sensual.

The perfumer is inspired by the generations of young, free women who have the power of choice, a feeling of fullness that is only experienced for a short time in life, which she wanted to capture with ginger flower, which has a softer, more refined fragrance than the root. Ethereal lychee and enveloping musk accompany its delicate nature with subtlety.

5 men's fragrances of 2023 that are a real crush

Duality of contrasts
MYSLF, YSL

Duality of contrasts
MYSLF, YSL

From a play on words and associations of ideas comes the name of YSL's new men's fragrance, a fresh, sensual and clean juice that will connect with young people. MYSLF is the way Generation Z spells the word "Myself", but it also refers to the duality M and F, masculine and feminine; and to MY YSL Fragrance, My YSL Fragrance. Which one do you choose?

A team of perfumers worked on the olfactory score: Daniela Andrier, Christophe Raynaud and Antoine Moisondieu. The three have concentrated on representing modern masculinity through the brand's first floral and woody fragrance.

As with the name, the scent does not have a single reading, as it feels both fresh and sensual, dark and light, yet… the final trail hints at an unknown depth, thanks to the combination of patchouli, moss and vetiver. "MYSLF's woody touch is subtle. It intensifies the fragrance by adding depth, sensuality, trail and length. A 100% natural biotechnological material derived from sugar cane, Ambrofix™ brings a unique, sensual and modern ambery woody air, and a note of genuine ambergris links with the sage sclarea of the fresh aromatic accord," explain the perfumers.

Can you believe Boss Bottled is now 25 years old? The fragrance maintains the youthful spirit of its launch; but it has undoubtedly become an icon of perfumery and is one of the best-selling men's perfumes (a bottle is sold every four seconds).

To celebrate the 25th anniversary, the brand has prepared a very special perfume, created with a high concentration of premium ingredients. For this difficult task, it has entrusted perfumer Annick Menardo - creator of the original fragrance - and Suzy le Helley. Both reinvent a modern classic by playing with warm and vibrant ingredients including incense, patchouli, vetiver, cedar and labdanum absolute, creating a scent that leaves no one indifferent with its charisma.

Salty skin
This is him! Undressed, Zadig & Voltaire

Cheerful and daring, Undressed distils the personality of the Zadig & Voltaire man. Created by Nathalie Lorson, the perfume is distinguished by aromatic and vibrant notes of grapefruit that mingle with pink pepper and orange blossom, giving way to an addictive trail of musk and salty skin accords that leave an unforgettable ambery and woody memory.

"It is a hedonistic fragrance for those who love the scent of bare skin, for those who wish to assert their presence with its woody, ambery trail. But it is also a fragrance for those in search of new sensations", explains Lorson.
