Neo-gourmand: ingredients such as matcha, rice milk, and sesame will take center stage in 2025. Sugary notes, vanilla, coffee (cappuccino, latte, espresso…), and chocolate will remain popular. Honey will also feature prominently in many creations.
New fruity accords: green banana, cherry, and peach are on the rise, with strawberry making its way into high perfumery.
Florals: roses will reign once again, with new facets enhancing their appeal, from fresh ozonic touches to spicy and even fiery twists.
Musk and oud: musk notes will highlight a skin-like effect to amplify personal scent, while oud will continue to define luxurious compositions, but with new luminous accords.
Citrus: notes like bergamot and yuzu will pair with florals such as osmanthus and ylang-ylang.

Balenciaga returns to perfumery
After 78 years since launching its first fragrance, the luxury brand Balenciaga may relaunch Le Dix, the first iconic fragrance created by the brand's founder in 1947.
Balenciaga's highly anticipated return to beauty and fragrances was announced just hours before the close of 2024, marking a milestone for the brand, which has focused on fashion for years. Under the direction of Kering Beauté, a division of the Kering Group, Balenciaga will debut in makeup–a category the brand has never explored–and return to the world of perfumery.
With this move, Balenciaga aims to establish itself as a leader in the beauty sector, complementing its fashion and accessories offerings.
For now, the brand has already registered its iconic double "B" logo for use in beauty products.
A high-flying fragrance
Airline Air France has unveiled its first-ever corporate fragrance, AF001, created by none other than master perfumer Francis Kurkdjian.
Starting this month, Air France customers will gradually experience the scent of AF001. First, at the entrance of select VIP Air France lounges at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport as a welcoming gesture for travelers. Later, it will extend to areas such as the La Première lounge, its adjoining suites, and lounges located in Terminals 2E (Halls L and M), 2F, and 2G. Over the coming months, the fragrance will expand to other VIP lounges in Paris and worldwide.
What does AF001 smell like? The fragrance conveys sensations of space, calm, and luminosity to gently accompany travelers. It combines a musky accord with Provencal mimosa for a naturally sunny vibe, complemented by notes of jasmine and rose.
The name AF001 refers to the legendary Concorde flights between New York and Paris in the late 1970s, and evokes the idea of a first journey.
"It was the illusion of a ray of sunlight on an airplane's wings that guided me to compose this light, fresh, and comforting fragrance," Kurkdjian explained. The scent took two years to develop.
Olfactory branding, a well-known marketing strategy, strengthens emotional connections, enhances the customer experience, and elevates brand identity. In Air France's case, the fragrance reinforces its values of French culture and luxury, positioning the airline as both premium and innovative.
"AF001 evokes the illusion of a ray of sunlight on an airplane's wings. It is a light, fresh, and comforting fragrance," says perfumer Francis Kurkdjian about Air France's first perfume.
Immerse yourself in Yves Saint Laurent's floral universe
Until May 4, the Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Paris invites you to explore the designer's floral universe in the exhibition Les Fleurs d'Yves Saint Laurent. The exhibition features silhouettes, textiles, accessories, and drawings that reflect the designer's love for flowers.
Flowers were a constant presence in Yves Saint Laurent's life. They appear in his sketches, prints, and runway show settings, and they served as an endless source of inspiration in his gardens.
From Christian Dior's favourite lily of the valley to the lily, a symbol tied to his initials, as well as roses of love, Moroccan bougainvillea, and lucky wheat, the exhibition is designed to create a dialogue between different arts and eras.
