Sometimes the packaging and bottle of a perfume it’s more tempting than its fragrance, but let’s not forget what’s the point of buying a perfume: it’s scent. Although the bottle it’s crucial while buying a perfume, it doesn’t have to be your main focus. If you like both the scent and the packaging it’s great but if you only like the bottle, you’ll only end up with a nice decoration.
…for its advertisement
Advertisements make you feel all your dreams can come true with great actors, sexy models and incredible, even impossible, situations. And of course, your dreams may come true, but if the fragrance meets your expectations. Because it may be advertised by Lady Gaga, Lana del Rey, Nicole Kidman or Brad Pitt, but if a perfume doesn’t smell good on you or you just don’t like it, you shouldn’t buy it.
…because it’s on sale
Discounts and sales are always tempting, but if you don’t like a perfume, it doesn’t matter if it has a good price, you won’t use it.
… without trying it
It’s key to try a perfume before buying it. And even if you do so, be cautious. When you try a perfume don’t buy it immediately. That scent it’s not going to be the same after some time on your skin. Leave it on your skin around half an hour and you’ll know what you’re buying. If you purchase online, most of the brands include samples so you can try it before opening the perfume and return it in case you don’t like it.

It’s tempting but just like buying a fragrance because you like its bottle, doing it for the gift with purchase without enjoying the perfume it’s a waste of money… and such a shame to have a fragrance and not use it.
