From his earliest childhood, Frank Voelkl has been sensitive to the olfactory world around him.
He has vivid memories of his uncle's farm in the countryside of his native Germany, where pungent barnyard smells, such as hay and fresh rain, awakened his interest in the scents of nature. Born in Bonn, he spent his childhood and adolescence abroad, in the Netherlands and France, and his curiosity for the many cultures of Europe made him increasingly interested in people of all origins.
After graduating from ISIPCA, Frank composed his first fragrance, a tiara flower, which launched his career as a perfumer and was a stunning tribute to his Tahitian wife. His profession satisfies his strong desire to travel, allowing him the privilege of being a contemporary "adventurer", constantly navigating and discovering the world around him. Frank especially enjoys his trips to French Polynesia, where its intoxicating air is infused with the colours and scents of nature at its purest. He loves its way of life, "where time seems to stand still…" On his arrival in Tahiti, Frank relishes the chance to "stop the clock", which contrasts with the fast pace of his life in New York. It not only revitalises him and influences his compositions, but also enlivens his spirituality and humanity. These island paradises - flamboyantly rich in nature and plenitude - are perhaps Frank's greatest inspiration.
