Amandine Clerc-Marie

Amandine Clerc Marie, modest at heart, prefers not to talk about herself. She has known the world of fragrances for as long as she can remember: her mother worked in the perfume industry. Amandine's career came naturally. During her apprenticeship, while learning about raw materials, her "sense of taste suddenly came alive". The memory still haunts her. At the end of her studies at JS IPCA, she wrote a thesis on the modernisation of the leather note in the fragrance "Bel Ami" and it was then that she met Michel Almairac. They worked together for more than ten years, until Amandine joined Firmenich in 2011.
Amandine loves the process of creating a fragrance, the action and then the manufacturing. She loves to look for an idea, sketch a preparatory sketch and then see how it all comes together. She is a very visual person and can always imagine what she wants to produce. What moves her? Movement, colours and shapes. She also likes to have projects. She moves house, renovates it, redecorates it and when she's finished…. she moves again! She needs to be on the move. She could have been an architect. "Like perfume formulas, in architecture you have to create solid foundations on which to build a structure. It's about building to create emotion. Amandine often follows her heart and openly confesses her passion for shoes and bags, to the point of becoming an addict. In fact, she refuses to count them. The measured perfumer gives way to the spontaneous woman.
Amandine's restless mind and energy mean that she is always on the move. With her husband and two children, she has visited Brazil, Thailand, Croatia and Morocco. "It's important to show them the world," she says. A nomad by nature, Amandine feels at home wherever she goes, as long as she is accompanied by her loved ones. "
