Born in California, Alex was fascinated by scents as a child, chasing girls on the playground to smell their deliciously shampooed hair. Progressively, he developed a passion for fragrances and began to collect perfume bottles.
During his studies for a career in medicine, Alex realized that the evocative nature of perfume served as a form of emotional medicine. Perfumery would allow him to follow his dreams of helping others while indulging his passion. After a meeting with a scientist in perfumery, he decided to go to Grasse, the birthplace of perfumery, the ideal place to get to know natural raw materials.
Alex left California in 2007 to study French in Lyon.
In the beginning of 2008, he was admitted in the Grasse Institute of Perfumery. After several stints as a perfumer’s assistant in Grasse fragrance houses, he was accepted at Isipca.
He was chosen upon his graduation to train in MANE’s Perfumery School. He began his training at the global headquarters in Bar-sur-Loup and spent a year in the Manhattan office prior to joining the MANE team in Paris.
In 2013, Alex was the winner of the young perfumer competition "The Scent of Esxence - 5 Years of Excellence“
He has since created fragrances for Maison Lancôme, Salvatore Ferragamo, and perfumes of exception brands such as Sillages, Penhaligon's and Masque Milano.
