Production

Italian born and bred, the tuber magnatum (otherwise known as the highly prized white truffle) is exclusively cultivated in a small area around Alba in the region of Piedmont. The harvest season takes place between mid-September and mid-November. Truffles are notoriously tricky to cultivate—growing on specific trees and requiring an abundance of microbes and rich soil conditions to prosper. The white truffle accord popular to perfumery is developed using a clever balance of various raw materials.
