Reminiscent of a warm summer’s evening, hay has a rather sweet, earthy fragrance. It is sometimes described as a scent that is best intermingled in a complementary concoction of notes—pairing particularly well with fern and lavender notes. It is vibrantly green, and not dissimilar to the scent of cut grass.
Mainly produced in the sunny south of France, hay absolute is extracted using volatile solvents. Its essence is extracted by steaming dry hay composed of several varieties of grass.
