Fig

Mix of bitter green and milky sweet facets with ripe fruity notes.

Deliciously succulent and slightly milky—the fragrant note of fig is just as divine as the fruit itself. This note is rather contradictory: bitter green, woody facets mingle with quintessentially fig-like notes of ripe, sickly-sweet dimensions. A creamy blend with earthy qualities, this note is often used in green compositions or in tandem with fruity, coconut accords reminiscent of a summer holiday.

Production

Cultivated since ancient times, the fig tree grows wild in dry, sunny places. In rocky climates with deep, fresh soil, the tree can grow up to 10 meters tall and produces large, fragrant leaves. The trees’ sweet scent extends to its decadently juicy fruit—a scent which is reimagined by perfumers using synthetic molecules such as Stemone to create a striking accord.

PREMIER FIGUIER

When Perfumer Olivia Giacobetti created Premier Figuier in 1994, she marked the history of modern perfumery with the first fragrance built around the fig note. The slightly milky vegetal green notes of this daring and evocative fragrance transports you for a nap under a fig tree.
