Amber

Warm, suave, sensual, animal, powdery.

Inspired by the traditional accords of Ancient Arabian perfumers, the amber accord exalts ambery fragrances rooted in sweet notes of vanilla or cistus labdanum. Amber accords may oscillate between powdery fresh scents and sweet, enveloping notes. An almost animalistic warmth meets sensuality in a bold and tenacious accord.

Did you know...

Kyphi was one of the first fragrances to reveal the rich dimensions of amber accord. Reminiscent of the prowess of ancient Egypt, Kyphi was known to combine ingredients such as honey, wine, chypre, genêt and cardamom to create sacred incenses, evoking a warm decadence that have inspired perfumers for four millennia. The amber accord, also known as yellow amber, is traditionally represented as a fossil resin and is mostly used in jewelry. Contrary to popular belief, amber accord has little to do with its namesake. Rather, the fossil is used as a visualization to illustrate a complex formula, with a single and iconic image: the yellow amber. The colors of this resin perfectly reflect the warm notes of amber, visualizing the heated fusion of the sun and suave honey.

AMBRE SULTAN

"Starting from an odoriferous wax found in the souks and long forgotten in a wooden box, this amber only became sultan when I had recomposed it: cistus, a grass that sticks to the fingers, a tar, and on him something that nobody imagined then, vanilla. " - Serge Lutens.
