Sandalwood. Found long ago in the perfume coffer of Alexander the Great. Legendary perfumery wood, mythic, mysterious, the sandalwood tree. Some fifty years are needed for the full flowering of the sandalwood tree; only then does it completely transmit its true perfume. The heart of the wood is the most intensely fragrant. Once it is cut, it develops a red-brown colour.
