The Fragrance Foundation held its annual awards ceremony at which perfumes that received votes from a jury of experts and the consumers themselves were honoured.
"The awards are our way of continuing to inspire the world to discover the magic, passion and art of fragrance," said TFF President Linda G. Levy at the gala, which, in addition to the awards, marked the Foundation's 75th anniversary.
More than 1,000 guests linked to the world of perfumery, perfumers, executives, designers, artists, celebrities and influencers supported the event held on 5 June at the David H. Koch Theater at the Licon Center (New York).

Perfumes with a lot of pride
Values such as equal rights for the LGBT community, inclusion and the fight against discrimination and violence are in the DNA of many cosmetics and fashion brands that advocate for all people to have the same opportunities.
Jean Paul Gaultier is one of the brands that do not miss the Pride event in June and, for the fourth consecutive year, dresses its most emblematic olfactory duo in the colours of the LGBT movement. On this occasion, the naked torsos of Le Male and Classique bear the brush strokes of New York artist and activist Keith Haring.
An icon of New York pop and street culture in the 1980s, Keith Haring was commissioned to embellish the bathrooms of The NYC LGBT Community Center with a mural that would go down in history as Once Upon a Time. This work was conceived as an artistic tribute to the 20th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots in New York, a moment that marked the beginning of the gay liberation movement and the rise of LGBTQIA+ rights.
"We are honoured to have our long-time partner, Jean Paul Gaultier, reproduce and celebrate our permanent art installation, Keith Haring's Once Upon a Time, for a new audience to enjoy," said The Center's CEO Carla Smith.
What is Smellmaxxing? Teenagers crazy about luxury fragrances
From the West to the East, the phenomenon known as Smellmaxxing seems to have a global reach, driven by social networks and, more specifically, by TikTok. This term refers to the interest in luxury perfumes.
Driven by TikTok, a legion of young people are showing off their new perfume purchases and designer perfume collections in their videos. And it's not just a question of Western areas. In China, where until recently there was not much of a fragrance culture, olfactory compositions are becoming irresistible to younger consumers.
Why are teenagers interested in perfume? Beyond wanting to smell good, fragrances allow them to express their individuality and to feel more grown-up and of a higher status.
Started by perfume influencers such as Jeremy Fragrance and Jatin Arora (@Therealcologneboy), the #Smellmaxxing trend has been amplified to become a common hashtag in videos and posts shared on social media.
It is clear that the new codes of Generation Z are creating new currents that represent a paradigm shift for the fragrance industry, with challenges and opportunities that brands will have to learn to address.
Beyond smelling good, teenagers express their individuality through perfume, they feel more grown-up and with a higher status.
Fendi launches new fragrance collection
On the verge of celebrating 100 years since its foundation (the centenary will be in 2025), the luxury brand Fendi presents a collection of perfumes composed of seven references that reveal different olfactory personalities.
The artistic direction of the collection has been in charge of Silvia Venturini Fendi, Delfina Delettrez Fendi and Kim Jones, who have worked with the perfumers Quentin Bisch, Fanny Bal and Anne Flipo to put an olfactory touch to several members of the founding family.
Each fragrance combines exclusive ingredients of the highest quality and in a high concentration:
Perche No: evokes a white sheet drying in the sun.
Prima Terra: pays homage to Africa and captures its most characteristic landscapes and olfactory notes.
Casa Grande: refers to Fendi's founder, Adele Casagrande.
Dolce Bacio: expresses the olfactory memory of a mother.
La Baguette: is inspired by the favourite snack of little Tazio and Dardo, sons of Delfina Fendi, the fourth generation of the Fendi family.

More pollution, fewer flowers
The damaging effects of pollution in the environment could be influencing the way pollinating insects behave, undermining the chances of flowering plants to thrive.
A study by scientists at the University of Washington has found that pollution reduces the smell of flowers by degrading scent molecules, making them less attractive to pollinating insects.
"We are very concerned about human exposure to air pollution, but there is a whole life system that is also exposed to the same pollutants," said Joel Thornton, an atmospheric chemist at the University of Washington and co-author of the study, who points out that they have really only begun to discover the impact of air pollution.
If pollinators visit flowers less often because they have fewer scent molecules, the plant population is drastically reduced. Based on computer modelling, researchers estimate that, in many large cities, pollution has reduced insect odour detection distances by more than 75% since pre-industrial times.
