Despite the fact that applying perfume is an ordinary gesture, there are as many ways of doing it as there are people, and everyone has their own habits. Although it is not an exact science, there are some areas in our body and clothes that help perfumes stand out.

Perfume can be applied directly on the skin or on the clothes we wear. It depends on your preferences, but in general terms, if you apply the perfume directly on the skin you get it to blend with your own aroma and have more personality. In the case of doing it on clothes, the fragrance will be released little by little and last all day.

Perfuming the skin

Perfuming the skin

If you are one of those who choose to directly perfume your skin, the most popular areas where fragrance is usually applied are those known as pulse zones. Why do we perfume precisely those areas of the body and not others? Because that is where our body gives off the most heat and in contact with the perfume, the magic happens.

Behind the ears or on both sides of the neck are usually the most popular areas. But if you want to enhance the sensuality of the perfume, you can also perfume your nape, your chest or even your lower back. Only someone who gets very close will be able to smell the fragrance.

When it comes to applying perfume, the wrists are the favorite area of many people. Besides being a pulse area, it allows the fragrance to reach further through movement. In the same way, by perfuming the rest of the joints (elbows, knees, etc.) you will get your scent to envelop you and leave a trail of perfume in your wake.

Another option is to apply perfume on the hair, although it will also alter the scent, the same way the skin does. It is a very subtle and refined way to perfume yourself, but you should be careful since fragrances often contain high percentages of alcohol that can damage hair. Fortunately, currently there are many variations of perfume, including hair-specific or alcohol-free hair mist versions of your favorite perfume, which will help enhancing your fragrance.

Perfuming clothes

It is a great way to make your perfume part of your look. Fabrics tend to absorb odors (both good and unpleasant) quickly and they remain for a long time, so perfuming your clothing helps intensifying your fragrance.

Perfuming the clothes you wear is also a sensual way to apply your fragrance, whether it is on the collar of a shirt, on the cuffs or on the waistband of a pair of pants. Of course, it is important to make sure that the fabric will not be damaged or stained when you apply the perfume. That is why it is recommended to apply the perfume spraying the air and let that perfumed cloud touch the clothes, instead of applying it directly, especially when fabrics are delicate.
