In summer, perfumes designed for babies gain prominence for the freshness and softness of their composition. In summer, perfumes designed for babies gain prominence for the freshness and softness of their composition. With a blend of soft and comforting notes, these creations are not only suitable for the delicate skin of children, but also become an alternative that captivates adults as a light and fresh perfume for daily use when temperatures rise.

Perhaps one of the keys to this type of compositions is that they evoke memories of childhood and the tenderness of the first years of life, capturing the essence of happy and secure moments. Their olfactory scores are characterised by soft, subtly sweet, uninvasive, yet enveloping accords, featuring notes of orange blossom, lavender, vanilla and white musks, complemented by hints of citrus for extra freshness.

In addition, their formulas are made to be gentle on children's sensitive skin, avoiding potentially irritating components and colourings, and almost all are alcohol-free, characteristics that also make them interesting for adults looking for products that respect delicate skin.
Some of the latest launches by major fashion brands such as Dior or Hermès show that premium children's perfumes are on the rise, turning the daily gesture of perfuming into a moment of luxury that children and adults can share.

A renewed vision of tenderness: Dior, Bonne Étoile

A renewed vision of tenderness: Dior, Bonne Étoile

The latest fragrance to join the trend of luxury baby perfumes is Bonne Étoile, which evokes the tenderness and magic of childhood through a scented water that is the result of a collaboration between perfumer Francis Kurkdjian, creative director of Dior Perfumes, and Cordelia de Castellane, artistic director of Baby Dior.
Formulated without alcohol and with 98% ingredients of natural origin, it awakens memories of childhood with soft notes of pear, wild rose and white musks.
"I wanted to avoid the inevitable orange blossom that has long characterised the scent of childhood and look for a comforting scent in another formula," explains Kurkdjian, who defines Bonne Étoile as "a creamy caramel that melts in the mouth".
The colourful bottles of this range are dressed in a toile de Jouy (a type of fabric that is highly prized in France), which has been created especially for the occasion and designed by Cordélia de Castellane herself.

Bonne Étoile is like "a creamy caramel that melts in your mouth", according to its creator, perfumer Francis Kurkdjian.

In 2022, Hermès added this reference to its portfolio. An ode to the sweetness and freedom of childhood, created by perfumer Christine Nagel. Fresh and delicate, the unmistakable notes of osmanthus combine with the freshness of honeysuckle, while the elegance of sandalwood rounds out the composition. Its alcohol-free formula is suitable for the delicate skin of children aged 3 and over.
Alice Charbin's lively and poetic illustrations adorn the perfume bottle, appealing to the imagination and the joy of discovering the world as a young child would. A real treat for adults who look at the world with joy.

The magic of nature: Goutal, Chat Perché

This eau de toilette launched by Goutal in 2018 is inspired by play and mischief in a natural, outdoor environment. It conveys the sensation of being in the countryside, running barefoot through the grass, jumping in puddles…
For this, Isabelle Doyen and Camille Goutal use a floral composition that combines notes of lemon blossom at the top, which brings a touch of freshness and vitality, and gives way to a heart of nasturtium, crisp grass and sweet pea. The base of white musk adds a comforting softness that completes this light and cheerful fragrance.

Sugary Delight: Lolita Lempicka, Mon Petit

Sugary Delight: Lolita Lempicka, Mon Petit

In 2020, Lolita Lempicka presented Mon Petit. Two years later, in 2022, she launched the Eau de Toilette version, thus continuing the chapter of children's fragrances of the brand that understands the infant universe in the following way: "The smell of babies is like a pleasure. It is one of the most pleasant and reassuring smells you can feel".
Floral and fresh, with musky, alcohol-free notes, perfumer Maïa Lernout pays homage to childhood with original notes of anise and marshmallow, blended with lime petals, freesia and orange blossom on a base of sugared almond and a cloud of white musk.
Developed with the utmost respect for baby's skin, Mon Petit is free of colourants, sunscreens and stabilisers. It is also free from essential oils and natural extracts that may cause allergies. It is also One Voice certified, which guarantees that it is 100% vegan and free of endocrine disruptors.

"The smell of babies is like a pleasure. It is one of the most pleasant and soothing smells you can feel," says Lolita Lempicka.

A sweet treat: Guerlain, Petit Guerlain

This eau de toilette is a creation of Thierry Wasser (2014) and was created to celebrate 20 years of the original fragrance, conceived by Jean-Paul Guerlain in 1994.
Petit Guerlain is fresh and gourmand. The top notes combine orange and mandarin with the aromatic touch of lavender and chamomile. In the heart, orange blossom mingles with floral accords of rose and mimosa, complemented by a retro note of violet. The warm base is composed of acacia honey and pistachio, culminating in a base of white musks.
The fragrance is presented in the iconic bee-patterned bottle that was originally created in 1853 for Empress Eugenie. This historic design is available in shades of blue and pink, but both share the same olfactory notes. Due to its exclusivity, the fragrance is only available at selected physical points of sale.
